About
I have worked in social services for about 6 years, but have been engaged in social services my whole life, I have a lifetime of Lived experience that has given me an outlook of knowing what it feels like to not feel seen, and heard. Through this I feel it provides me an opportunity to support others in feeling seen and heard. With my multitude of lived experiences I have also engaged in the support of recovery that has helped me to have a better understanding of the things that have happened to me... My Greatest accomplishment aside from being an emotionally healthy mother for my children is Advocating for Washington state to change the law around providing diploma's to families for Students that passed away BEFORE obtaining their high school credits. I successfully moved the state of Washington to change RCW 28A.230.120 law, as of 2022 families can request from their Washington State school district a Diploma for their child's Graduating year with the inscription Honoris Causa REGARDLESS of the amount of High school credits they accumulated while enrolled as a high school student. This change came after I was denied my son's Diploma, who was a student with an IEP, a student with disabilities and a student in his 6th year of high school.
I have many trainings and certificates, however those papers mean nothing to me when I am in a room of people that deserve to feel seen.
I have done a Trauma Inclusive Workshop under my LLC Cedar Moon Medicine, at the Learning academy's Conference In Tacoma Washington, I look forward to more opportunities to lead workshops and trainings.
