Virtual TBI Peer Support Group Facilitator

HeyPeers is therefore delighted to welcome applications for Traumatic Brain Injury Virtual Peer Group Facilitators. In this role, you will partner with us to promote, facilitate and manage the very best in online TBI peer support groups.

Responsibilities include:

Managing the meeting space for online peer support groups
Opening the meeting space
Welcoming participants into the meeting space
Sharing appropriate slides at the beginning of the meeting
If co-hosting
Assisting co-host with entrance into the meeting space
Discussing with fellow co-hosts prior to the start of the meeting who will do what (sharing slides, welcome, setting up breakout rooms, etc.)
Facilitating the interaction of the participants during the meeting
Ensure all participants follow group guidelines
Maintains professional boundaries while offering feedback consistent with peer support principles.
Allow all participants the opportunity to share their experiences
Manage disruptive users and behavior in meetings and communicate emergencies/ immediate concerns to the appropriate staff members in a timely manner
Providing self-help education
Where appropriate, and according to group guidelines, share resilience tips and feedback with participants
Soliciting feedback
When appropriate, reminding participants to complete feedback surveys on the effectiveness of and support received from the meeting
Promote HeyPeers services within your personal and professional networks
Making suggestions about how to improve HeyPeers service
Adheres to the HeyPeers Group Leader Handbook and all platform guidelines.

Work Requirements:

Must have TBI lived experience
Able to communicate effectively with internal and external parties
Able to perform work remotely
Empathetic and understanding of complex participant relational needs
Must facilitate groups in a quiet, secluded, and private space, with access to high-speed internet
Must have access to a computer with high speed internet connection, high-quality audio and microphone
